New To PPC Marketing? Here’s How Not To Screw Up Your First Campaign

PPC or pay per click marketing is a good way of raising brand awareness. It’s a form of Internet advertising that helps companies promote themselves to targeted audiences. These days, most enterprises favor PPC marketing over conventional offline-based ones. And it’s not hard to see why that is so!

For a start, the biggest advantage is the lower cost. It’s often much cheaper to launch PPC campaigns than offline media ones. Another benefit is how one can target niche markets. You can select from a combination of advertising vectors. Examples include location, gender, occupation and more. None of that is really possible with newspaper advertising.

Perhaps the biggest reason firms pay for digital marketing is that results are measurable. You can learn when and how people respond to your campaigns. Again, that’s not quite possible with offline campaigns!

If you’re new to PPC marketing, this article is for you. I won’t talk about what PPC campaigns are because I will assume you already know that. What I will do is share with you seven things you must do before launching a new PPC campaign. Here is what you need to know:

  1. Know what you are trying to promote

What is your ultimate goal? Are you trying to increase awareness of your brand? Or do you wish to promote a specific product or service? Before you launch a new PPC campaign, you need to know what you are promoting first!

  1. Get some help

You may have read a few web pages that give hints and tips on how to launch successful PPC campaigns. Of course, some of those articles might be out of date. Or they might not be relevant to what you are trying to achieve.

Save time and money by hiring a PPC agency to set up your campaign. Once the hard work gets done, you can take over and monitor each campaign’s progress.

  1. Make sure your website is mobile-friendly

Did you know that mobile users carry out the most searches on Google these days? It’s no surprise, given the sharp rise in smartphone and tablet use! With that fact in mind, it’s important your website is viewable on mobile devices.

  1. Build landing pages for your PPC campaigns

It doesn’t make sense to direct people to generic pages on your website when they click on an ad. Instead, what you need to do is create unique landing pages. Doing so means you can add call-to-actions that work!

  1. Do some A/B testing of your landing pages

When you start your PPC campaign, find out which variations of ads and page content work best. That way, you can pause or delete ones that are poor performers. You’ll also save yourself a ton of money too!

  1. Use analytics to track your campaign’s success

There are a plethora of analytics solutions out there that you can use. One notable and free example is Google Analytics. Using such tools, you can determine how well your ad campaigns are working for you.

  1. Ensure your host offers high uptime

You don’t want to pay for ads that lead people to inaccessible web pages! With that in mind, ensure that your web host offers high uptime for your website. If they don’t, find one that does.

Good luck!
